Detoxification is a natural process performed by our bodies that includes the liver, kidneys, skin, digestive system, and many other organs and processes! 🎉🎉
If any of these processes are not as effective, it is because they are overworked, overstressed, or inflamed and the toxins that are supposed to be excreted via detoxification get packed away in our fat cells and can slowly leak into the body. 🤯🤯🤯🤯
From an overall health standpoint, this isn’t ideal. 🥴
Detoxification is essentially taking a lipid/fat soluble compound and making it water-soluble so that it can be excreted from the body - think sweat, urine, breath, etc. Sounds simple, right? Well, if all of our internal processes are well supported, it sure can be! ✅🎉🤩
How can we support our detoxification processes in the body? 👇🏻👇🏼👇🏽👇🏾
The liver needs a plethora of nutrients for both Phase I and Phase II detoxification - where the fat soluble compound is turned into a water soluble compound. If both phases aren’t equally supported, you might either speed up or slow down one of these phases.
When someone just tries to use one of those fancy juice cleanses, only a part of the process is really being addressed…
This is why our dietary intake plays such a huge role in the detoxification processes.
But what if these areas of detoxification are not functioning properly yet? 😥😥😥
Daily elimination of stool, the ability to sweat or inducing some form of sweating, drinking enough fluids to cleanse and flush the system? Then we’re stuck with only one piece of the detoxification puzzle. The kidneys, gallbladder, and liver all work as a team!
So, here we go:
During this challenge, we’re going to make sure we:
✅ Support your digestion
✅ Support your absorption of nutrients
✅ Support your elimination pathways
You’re going to be utilizing nutrition and specific daily actions to address each of these areas. Find out next week as we go further into detoxification and how these effects will benefit us in the long run! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
